Biomass boilers - burning wood without the back ache!
Biomass boilers are a completely non-revolutionary renewable technology- quite simply they burn organic matter (such as wood) to heat buildings and hot water- something has proved successful for many thousands of years!!
Obviously the technology has moved on a bit, we are no longer talking about hours of back breaking work chopping logs and cleaning messy grates; some modern biomass boilers are up to 97% efficient and virtually completely automated, meaning that, from an operational point of view in some situations you would notice very little difference between a biomass burner and a traditional oil or gas boiler.

Biomass boilers provide heat output at the same temperature as traditional oil and gas boilers; as such they are suitable for virtually any heating application, especially older, less thermally efficient properties such as farmhouses, where a heat pump might not heat the property effectively.
